Patriot Day on the Web

  • Remembering September 11th
There are many extraordinary and fitting memorials for the victims and heroes of the September 11th terrorist attacks already dedicated or in the planning stages at the site of the former World Trade Center, at the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. But there are also other memorials, smaller in scale yet just as stirring, around the United States and across the Atlantic. Here are some of the examples.
" I want to share with the world poems, stories, and Flash Tributes created by some of the most talented people on this earth, that would make anyone weak in the heart and teary eyed. These pictures, videos, and tributes on this site were collected from several places throughout the net, from friends, and from emails. They are not intended to upset anyone, but to remind people how precious life really is."
  • President Bush Proclaims September 11 as Patriot Day
  • ABCNEWS4KIDS: America Attacked
  • September 11th Through Children's Eyes
ThinkQuest project: We created a museum showing how kids felt about the events of September 11th. We interviewed children, teachers and important people. We interviewed kids from a school directly affected by the tragedy. We have many pictures from that school as well.
  • Raising Our Kids: Patriot Day
    Information and links.
  • Freedom Files
" What began as a set of resources covering the events of September 11th, has now grown into a massive section devoted to the United States military, the war in Iraq, and a record of our nation’s living history. In the Freedom Files you have access to various sources of information related to the current state of the union, all in one place. We have September 11th resources including slideshows, timelines, video footage, tributes, historic moments in the aftermath, and much more. You’ll also find our newly added and constantly updated section on the war with Iraq. "
  • September 11th Digital Archive
The September 11th Digital Archive uses electronic media to collect, preserve, and present the history of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Patriot Day Stuff

  • September 11th crafts and activities
  • Hooray for Heroes
In order to participate in the Hooray for Heroes celebration, it is important that you understand what heroes really are. You will need to study famous American heroes. Then you can choose several school heroes and interview them. Finally, select your personal hero and write a story about them. You will be responsible for creating silhouettes, graphs about hero birthyears, maps showing hero birthplaces and measuring specific parts of the school heroes. You will also be creating hero coins and buttons as well as learning famous American hero songs and painting hero portraits.

The staff at EHO try very hard to answer all our mail. We have had many of our responses to email returned as undeliverable. We also delete unread a great deal of spam. If your email message header sounds like it is spam, it will be deleted. "You Should See This!" or "Have I got something great for you" are examples of subject lines that would be deleted unread. If you use 'EHO' in the subject line it will not be deleted unread. If you have not received an answer to your question, please resend your email. We usually have a delay of 1 to 2 weeks in answering email because of the number of requests we get. Those wishing to request links to our site should read our linking page before writing us. All our resources are posted online. We do not mail information to postal addresses.
