Homeschool Writing Opportunity
The
Eclectic Homeschool promotes creative homeschooling through unique
resources, teaching methods, and online helps. We are a Christian
publication, and although we do not limit ourselves to Christian
material, we will not accept articles which include proselytizing
for other religions or worldviews.
We
are currently soliciting articles for publication covering any topic
that deals with or touches on homeschooling or Christian living.
Feature articles should reflect a creative and individual approach
to homeschooling. We are looking for articles that are encouraging,
practical, and insightful. We typically publish articles that deal
with real life responses to homeschooling issues, assistance in
choosing and using curriculum or resources, homeschooling as a life
style, Christian faith and how it relates to raising our children,
and ideas in education.
We
are also looking for shorter departmental pieces that deal with
methods or topics within a particular academic area. Our departments
include: Math, Critical Thinking, Science, Social Studies, Language
Arts, The Arts, Crafts, Home & Family, College & Career,
Bible, and Computer. Articles may include real life experiences
in homeschooling a particular subject, hands-on activities, practical
suggestions or tips, or how-to's for specific topics (how to teach
addition and subtraction of fractions or how to make a solution
for chemistry).
We are unable to pay for articles at this time. We do make occassional exceptions. Query the acquisitions editor.
Please
include a 20-30 word credit with your submission. You may include
a link to your website or email address.

The following is a summary of the rights we request when we purchase

This allows us to publish your article online for a two month period
during which it is exclusively ours to publish. It cannot be published
online or in print anywhere else. After that we have the non-exclusive
right to keep your article available online in our archives which
are found in the Feature Archives and the Departmental article lists.
Non-exclusive Electronic Rights means that you can or you can give
others the right to publish your article online, too, after the
two month first rights period has ended. You also have the right
to publish your article in print anywhere you please after the two
month first rights period has ended. Anthology rights gives us the
right to add your article to an anthology we may create in the future.
Something along the lines of The Best of EHO Math.

we will mail you a contract to sign and return. Once we have received
the signed contract payment will be made. We will notify you of
