Statistics. My husband and daughter love them. In fact, they found this software and program fascinating. "Fathom...is an amazing computer learning environment that gives students the power to explore, analyze, and understand statistics as never before. Dynamic interaction makes data analysis easier and abstract concepts far more meaningful. It's an invaluable tool that makes statistics fun to learn--and to teach!"

This curriculum helps students in middle grades through college learn mathematics and statistics. It helps make mathematical concepts visual and dynamic and allows the incorporation of interesting and motivating real-world data available on the Internet. Fathom uses simulations to make inferential statistics, and the probability that is part of it, easier to understand.

Here is what students can do with Fathom:
Drag and drop data, and watch all linked representations update automatically
Quickly and easily choose the best method for plotting data
View and update multiple, linked graphs simultaneously
Put algebraic expressions to use in amazing ways to plot, compute, and link
Use powerful, computer-intensive sampling, scrambling, and simulation methods to understand statistical concepts
Animate graphs and simulations with sliders
Import data directly from the Web--just drag the URL and drop it into Fathom
Analyze census files and other large data sets
Produce polished assignments and entire project reports--with Fathom you can write accompanying text to explain work

With over 100 built-in functions and more than 300 data sets, including broad import-export capabilities, Fathom is certainly the way to go for teaching statistics. Key Curriculum has included a superb help system that guides you not only in using the software, but also in doing the mathematics. Give Fathom a try.
