I'm a big fan of read along books for children. As any parent can tell you, if a pre-reader likes a book, they want to hear it over and over again. Even though we might like to read the book that many times, sometimes we have to do other things, so the answer is read along books.

This read along story called Bat Loves the Night is all about bats. Accurate illustrations show bats flying, hanging, and walking. The book also explores the great variety of bats in the world showing the difference between greater bulldog bats, common vampire bats, indian flying foxes, hardwickes mouse-tailed bats, spotted bats, white fruit bats, and the greater horseshoe bats.

Bats have a creepy reputation but are really nothing to be afraid of. In fact, bats are good for the environment. They eat pounds of insects every night. Without bats, we'd have too many mosquitoes and other insect pests.

This is a fabulous read along. Kids will astonish adults with their knowledge of bats after reading Bat Loves the Night.
