Flibbix: Build a Board Game

Publisher: Merillian Games

List Price: $39.99

Ages: All Ages

The instructions say “2-5 players” but when we brought this game out, so many wanted to play that we had to stretch the rules. We scrounged tokens from other games and filled in with a penny and a dime for two of the players.

But that's a part of the fun of Flibbbix! It's an award-winning game where you make up the rules, the board, even the play as you go along!

You construct the board from magnetic tiles. There are 45 of these, and you can build the path of the game in a variety of shapes and directions. Because the tiles are magnetic, they stick together, even when the players get wild. The tiles are two-sided, so you can flip them and change the board in the middle of the game. There are also cards that you draw during the game, some of which have fixed results, and others which depend on the rules you made up at the start of the game.

What's that, you say? You make up the rules, too?

Yes!

But to avoid complete chaos, there is some structure provided as well, with a form that you all fill out together as you set the rules. Thus, you determine who goes first, who goes next, what “opponent” means, what happens when you land on the same space as someone else, and so on. And then, you roll the die and start to play!

Flibbix was created by a homeschool family; people who have definitely learned to think outside the box. It's perfect for hours of fun, and great for mixed ages playing together. It never loses its luster because you'll never play the same game twice!

The staff at EHO try very hard to answer all our mail. We have had many of our responses to email returned as undeliverable. We also delete unread a great deal of spam. If your email message header sounds like it is spam, it will be deleted. "You Should See This!" or "Have I got something great for you" are examples of subject lines that would be deleted unread. If you use 'EHO' in the subject line it will not be deleted unread. If you have not received an answer to your question, please resend your email. We usually have a delay of 1 to 2 weeks in answering email because of the number of requests we get. Those wishing to request links to our site should read our linking page before writing us.
