What is happening in the Church today? In the video State of the Nation Ken Ham gives a sobering multimedia presentation detailing the collapse of Christianity in Western culture, a call to action, to awaken the sleepers in the pews to action. Basing his talk on Psalm 11:3, "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" he puts forth the idea that mindlessly accepting the theory of evolution is leading to the crumbling of Christian faith.

When you consider how insidious evolutionary thought is in our culture, it's not surprising that people tend to accept the theory as fact without much -- if any -- thought about the matter. I remember in my own schooling, accepting evolution as fact because it was presented as fact! However, as an adult, I've learned to question the theory (as "theory" it is) from reading books, watching videos, and attending conferences from a variety of sources including Ken Ham's organization, Answers in Genesis. These are not a bunch of Bible-thumping fanatics, but serious students including many scientists who have examined the evidence and concluded that it does not line up with evolutionary theory.

Mr. Ham calls for a radical revision of how today's Christians teach their children -- starting with taking the Bible seriously.

If the Church is to remain alive, vibrant, and relevant in today's culture, her members need to be awake, aware, and well educated. Don't just take evolution for granted, as I did for years, but investigate the facts yourself. Watch State of the Nation if you need motivation to get started. Our children's faith is at stake.
