Your young mathematician can choose to race dragsters or wild horses. At least one of the dragsters was deemed very cool by my ten-year-old son. Initially you race against the computer, but the computer hobbles along so slowly it isn't hard to beat. In fact, I left a game half way through to answer the door and still managed to win the race. That means your child will win his initial races no matter how slowly he answers the questions. After each race his score is used to replace one of the computer's racers, so that after several races your child is racing against his own best times. Somehow losing to himself wasn't disheartening to my son, because he knew he could do better.

Each race can be set up to cover exactly what you want your child to practice. If he needs to practice his sixes multiplication table, you can have him work just on his sixes. You can have him work on multiplication facts through the numbers you choose up to 25 x 25. The topic lists for each level are extensive allowing you to personalize the program to your child's specific needs.
